Baby

The body of a 6 week old baby girl was found on Eastney Beach on 29 June 1961.

The child's body was found about six yards from the water's edge and about 150 yards west of the Royal Marines Swimming Baths.

A pathologist that carried out the post mortem said that the cause of death was not apparent. He said that there was no evidence of violence or whether or not the child had had a separate existence.

He said that the child's death occurred about the time of birth and that it had died about six weeks before the child was found.
