John Birrell died following an altercation with a man.

His neighbour was tried for killing him but the charge was found not proven.

The neighbour said that he had acted in self-defence.

He was said to have pushed and punched John Birrell. John Birrell died from a heart attack at the scene. However, it was heard that he had suffered from heart disease.
