Thomas Ramsey

Age: 16

Sex: male

Date: 19 Sep 2000

Place: Levenshulme

Thomas Ramsey was shot in a park in Levenshulme on 19 September 2000.

He was shot in the head and neck at close range with a semi-automatic handgun.

It was thought that his murder might have been carried out by the Longsight Crew in response to the murder of Marcus Greenidge two weeks earlier.

However, the man that was convicted of the murder of Marcus Greenidge was also tried for the murder of Thomas Ramsey, but acquitted. They had been in the same gang, the Pitt Bull Crew, with Thomas Ramsey being described as the man's trusted lieutenant. However, it was alleged that he had shot him because he had failed to hide a gun when asked to that had had the man's DNA on it.

It was alleged that Thomas Ramsey had bene ordered to move the gun which was hidden at a flat in Longsight, but that he had forgotten, and the gun had been found by the police when they raided the flat on 15 September 2000. Thomas Ramsey was found dead in the park three days later with a copy of the search warrant underneath his outstretched hand.
